Foden admitted that his performance in the European Cup was not as good as expected, but he is trying to adjust his mentality, hoping to show outstanding performance in the Premier League.
Foden: "In the first game (against Serbia) I was very flat and didn't have many chances to attack. I feel I have improved in the next match. I almost scored a few times... If those chances had been converted into goals, nobody would have said anything."
"I think sometimes I let myself get too excited for the game. The key is to trust past performance, not to be influenced by outside statements, and not to try too hard. I just need to stay relaxed and let my football do the talking."
"My teammates are all... We'd talk and they'd just say, 'Be yourself,' you know, like you've been all year. So that's what I'm trying to do, I'm working hard on the training ground."
"I've been working hard. If you look at my stats, most of the time I run the most. People don't see that side of me."
Foden admitted that England's problem was pressing and promised that from now on "you will see us play differently in pressing".
"I feel sorry for Gareth (Southgate). In training he keeps telling us to press, to stand forward, but I feel sometimes that has to come from the players. We have to be leaders in the game. We've talked about it and if it happens again in the game, we can come together and find a solution and adjust our pressing."
Foden, though, excelled in the darts game, sweeping the field at the England team hotel. No one has beaten him so far, and he has scored three 180-points: "I often play against (Ebereich) Ezer. The more I beat him, the more he wants to fight me. I like that attitude because it's my attitude, too. When I lose, I always want to play again."
