Live on August 21, "Telegraph" reported that Paris believes that Mbappe's salary is compensation for the team.
Paris Saint-Germain are still withholding Mbappe's salary and bonus, and despite media reports in France that Mbappe has initiated legal proceedings over the matter, the Telegraph says Mbappe has not done so.
The Telegraph reported in June that Paris had yet to pay the final two months of Mbappe's salary, or 12.5 million euros, before he joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. Mbappe also claims he is owed more loyalty bonuses, amounting to tens of millions of euros.
However, the Paris club have pointed out to Mbappe and his management team that it was Mbappe who agreed to forgo certain financial income, as he had previously promised not to leave without compensation from the club. Negotiations are continuing over how to resolve the situation and finalise the terms of his departure, but Mbappe has not referred the matter to the legal committees of UEFA and the French professional Football Federation, as had been suggested. Paris insists they are entitled to compensation.
