The Football Association have charged Southampton captain Steven Stephens with abusing the referee [JIAYU]


The Football Association have charged Southampton captain Jack Stephens after finding him guilty of a misconduct during Southampton's Premier League match against Manchester United.

The defender allegedly used abusive and/or insulting words towards the match referee and the fourth official after being sent off in the 79th minute or so. Stephens has until September 19 to respond to the charges.

In the fourth round of the English Premier League, Southampton v Manchester United, in the 78th minute of the game, Southampton captain Stephens flew Ganacho, was shown a straight red.
