Tunhage has left his post as Manchester United manager, and reports suggest the Red Devils are interested in Portuguese sports coach Mauro Amorim. Recently, BBC Sport published an introduction to Amorim, the BBC believes that although Amorim is young, he has made a brilliant performance in his coaching career.
So far, Amorim has coached a total of 244 matches, achieving 174 wins, 34 draws and 36 losses, a win rate of 71.3%. Amorim was linked with the Liverpool job this summer and, despite being under the age of 40, he has been widely noticed.
In 2021, at the age of 36, Amorim led Portuguese Sports to their first league title in 19 years, and they won the league trophy again last season.
A former Benfica and Portugal international midfielder, Amorim retired in 2018 and emerged as a manager the following year, promoted to first-team coach after impressing in Braga's reserve team.
With 10 wins in 13 games in charge of Braga, including the first away win over Benfica in 65 years, Amorim has attracted the attention of big clubs, and Sporting Portugal is so keen to acquire him that it paid him 10 million euros to become the team's manager in March 2020. 10 million euros is the third highest transfer fee for a manager, and Amorim's current contract with Sporting Portugal expires in June 2026.
