TA: Burnley will sign Hannibal Hannibal from Manchester United on loan + compulsory purchase [JIAYU]


Burnley have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign midfielder Hannibal Hannibal on a loan-plus compulsory purchase option, according to The Athletic.

Hannibal, 21, will undergo a medical today before completing the move. Hannibal joined Manchester United's youth team from Monaco in 2019 and has so far made 13 appearances for the Red Devils' first team, scoring one goal.

Hannibal's transfer fee is €5 million (£4.2 million), with add-ons that could take the fee up to €10 million. Given that Hannibal has played for Manchester United for five years, the club's sale of him will be treated as pure profit in the same way as the sale of an academy player.

Hannibal is the latest United player to leave the club this summer, following Pelisteri, Oyedele and Fish. Earlier, Varane, Martial, Van der Beek, Van Bisaka, Greenwood, Forson and Cambuara have left Old Trafford.
