Live on June 7 - Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has named the best squad of his time in charge of Manchester United. In nearly 30 years at the helm, the Scot has led the club through a number of highly successful periods, winning the Premier League 13 times and lifting the Champions League twice. Ferguson was asked to name his best XI during his time in charge of United and admitted that a number of legends immediately sprang to mind.

Ferguson: "It's difficult to pick, you look at the strikers I have, McClair, Hughes, Cole, Cantona, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Saha, Solskjaer, Yorke, Sheringham and then the recent players, Rooney, Van Persie, Hernandez, so how do you pick? Could it be Cantona with someone else? It's probably easier in midfield because we have Keane, Robson and Scholes, who are fantastic players, and David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs."

Ferguson insists Dennis Irwin is secure at full-back: "Honestly, I'd say Dennis Irwin is definitely in the team and I'd give him eight out of 10. In a game at Highbury, he missed a pass in the last minute and Bergkamp came on to score. You must have been disappointed with that pass back? Ferguson: "Well, once a decade is not bad. He's an unbelievable player."

After joining United from Oldham in June 1990, Irwin became one of the most decorated players in Irish football history, winning 18 trophies in 12 seasons with the club.
