Reporter: Newcastle's £35 million bid for Iranga has been rejected by Forest [JIAYU]


Sky Sports senior reporter Rob Dorsett reports that Newcastle submitted a £35 million bid for Iranga, which was roundly rejected by Nottingham Forest. Forest have no intention of selling players.

The reporter said he learned that Forest would only consider releasing Iranga in the closing stages of the transfer if they received a "stupidly high" offer, leaving a gap in the squad.

Sweden striker Iranga, 22, came through Manchester United's youth academy. In the summer window of 2023, Forest spent 17.5 million euros to sign Iranga, so far, the player has made 42 appearances, scored 5 goals and assisted 9 times. According to previous reports, in the transfer contract, United has a sharing clause for the second transfer fee of Iranga.
