(Arsenal captain Erdegaard has been out for more than six weeks with an ankle injury he suffered playing for Norway in September.)
Erdegaard has recently stepped up his rehabilitation, doing individual training and running on an anti-gravity treadmill, and has confirmed that he is "getting close" to a comeback.
Asked if Erdegaard would be ready to play for his country next month, Norway coach Erdegaard Solbakken said: "Everything indicates that (Erdegaard's) rehabilitation is going well."
"Now it's the final stage, he needs to do confrontation training and team training. It depends on how he responds to training, but we have reasonable hope that he will be ready."
Although Erdegaard is making progress in his recovery, Arteta has confirmed that the midfielder is not expected to be fit for this weekend's game against Liverpool.
