According to Spanish journalist Jos Felix Diaz, Modric, 39, has not ruled out playing for Croatia at the 2026 World Cup.
Modric has played 181 times for the Croatian national team, scoring 27 goals, and participated in the five European Championships in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024, as well as the three World Cups in 2014, 2018 and 2022, helping the Targran Army to win one World Cup runner-up and one third place.
