The Manchester Evening News reports that City will hold talks with De Bruyne once the player returns to training to see what the midfielder's plans are for next summer after Pep Guardiola confirmed he will not be leaving the club this summer.

During this summer's transfer window, De Bruyne was linked with a move to a club in the Saudi League, having twice said he would consider playing in the kingdom if there was a "particularly amazing" offer, sparking concern among City fans. However, such an offer did not materialise and recent reports of a deal between him and the Saudi club were inconsistent with the facts.

On Monday, Guardiola confirmed in an interview in the United States that De Bruyne would not be leaving this summer. It is a guarantee that City will welcome De Bruyne back on August 5 and he will be back training with the rest of the players who took part in the knockout stages of the European Championship. Following de Bruyne's return to the club, City will seek to hold talks with him to see what his plans are when his contract expires next summer.
