Academy player JoeHugill, who scored in United's 2-0 win over Grasg Rovers last weekend, was not included in the squad for the trip to the United States as he has completed his transfer. The Red Devils announced on Thursday that 20-year-old Huegill has joined League One side Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.

Huegill was given the number nine shirt at Wigan, suggesting he could become the main centre-forward. The England youngster was also loaned out to League One struggler Burton Burton for the second half of last season but did not score many goals and he is hoping to change that this time around. Huegill told Wigan's website: "I'm delighted to be here. It's been a long time in talks and I'm absolutely delighted to have completed the move and can't wait to get started. It's a huge honour to wear the number nine shirt and I'll wear it proudly and hopefully I can show I deserve it."
Wigan finished 12th in the league last season, 12 points adrift of promotion to the extra division. Manager Shaun Maloney has high hopes for Huegill: "I'm delighted we've managed to sign Joe [Huegill], he's going to be an important member of the group and I'm looking forward to working with him. He's a hard-working No9 and has been a natural goalscorer throughout his time at United. He has a lot of strong attributes and I'm really pleased he's here."
Huegill, from Sunderland, has been described as the "new Crouch" because of his tall and lean physique. Manchester United gave him a new contract at the beginning of the year, which will last until 2026, but it is difficult for him to get a chance in the first team in the short term, after all, he has only scored one goal in League One, which is not enough to prove himself.
Manchester United's other academy player Hannibal Majebury is also in talks to move, and his next move could be the opponent who was scored by Huegill in the last warm up - Glasgow Rovers.
African media said Hannibal had recently received two offers, with the other team he was said to be interested in being Copenhagen in Denmark. The Tunisian international spent last season on loan at La Liga side Sevilla, but his performances failed to attract a buyout.
Rangers and Copenhagen are reportedly keen to take Hannibal, 21, on loan before buying him out, but United want to go straight to a permanent transfer. The Red Devils used 10 million euros to sign the French national youth talent from Monaco, who was regarded as the "new Pogba" and the youth academy prince. Unfortunately, his development was not satisfactory after all, and he was rented out to Birmingham City and Sevilla. Hannibal now preferred the wanderer, and negotiations had reached an advanced stage.

Uruguay winger Facundo Peristeri is still in talks with Greek side Panathinaikos and is open to a move. After joining for a fee of 10 million euros in 2020, Pele was never reused, and after waiting two years to make his debut, Solskjaer, Langnick and Tunhag were not satisfied with his ability.
Peristeri, 22, spent last season on loan at La Liga side Granada and is set to leave United on a permanent basis after impressing in the Copa America this summer. His agent has already fallen out with United manager Martin Tunhag, angrily accusing the 54-year-old Dutchman of failing to keep his word about the opportunity he was given.
Meanwhile, Manchester United winger Samuel Mather has successfully renewed his contract, with Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming that he has signed a three-plus one deal until June 2027, with a one-season extension option. Mather, 19, is a left-winger who scored four goals in the United youth team against Norwich earlier this year and has been given a number of opportunities in the Red Devils' first-team warm-up games this summer. However, due to the number of first-team wingers, Mather may also need to rent out training.
