Nottingham Forest have made a higher bid for Feyenoord striker Santiago Jimenez to bolster their attacking options, according to the Mail. The latest offer was £28m.
The player is currently worth 40 million euros in Germany and his current contract expires in 2027. In the summer of 2022, Feyenoord paid 6 million euros to bring him to Europe from Mexico's Blue Cross. Last season, the Mexican striker played 41 games for Feyenoord, scoring 26 goals and eight assists, including 23 goals and six assists in 30 games in the Dutch League.
The 23-year-old played in Feyenoord's first three league games of the season, contributing two goals and one assist, and found the net twice in the Cruyff Shield.
Earlier, British media said that forest sought to sign Nketya, the offer of 25 million pounds was rejected by Arsenal, the Gunners price of more than 30 million pounds. Talks between the two Premier League clubs have since stalled.
