Live on March 25, "Daily Sport" reported that Frick will renew his contract with Barca for one year, and Barca director Deco hopes to complete the contract extension this summer.

Frick, whose current contract expires next year, does not like long-term contracts and does not think he will be in the coaching seat for a long time. He agreed to a new contract because it would bring more stability to the team and the club, and because he prioritised developing local talent rather than spending money.

However, he has made it clear that certain positions need strengthening and the club are committed to meeting them whenever financial and wage constraints allow. Frick feels very comfortable at Barca and believes there will be better days ahead, but believes his future at the club will be limited to a maximum of three or four years, after which he will take a break from football.
