June 12, Leipzig Red Bull announced today the renewal of the contract with Cesco until 2029, and then the club's sporting director Schroeder and the player himself were interviewed by the media.

Schroeder said: "Cesco arrived at Red Bull Leipzig a year ago as a top talent and has developed brilliantly with us. Especially in the second half of the season, Cesco showed how important he is to our game and the many attributes he possesses as a versatile striker. He scored 11 goals in the second half of the season and recently scored in seven consecutive games. It was a fantastic goal rate and shows that he is already one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga and he is only 21 years old."
"Cesco is one of our key players for the coming seasons, so the extension is a strong signal. It also highlights our ambition to become a permanent contender in the Bundesliga and to be among the top clubs in Europe. Cesco perfectly embodies our DNA and philosophy of the game, and with this new contract, we can continue to move our franchise plans forward."
Cesco said: "I have had a great first year at Leipzig and am very happy to be here. The team, the club, the city, the fans - it's all been fantastic for me. So an early extension was the next logical step for me."
"Even though the first half of the season was short on minutes and goals, this period was very important for me and my development. I feel the trust and appreciation of the whole club and that is vital for me to reach my full potential. Especially in the second half of the season, I was able to repay the club with goals."
"Our squad has great potential, with a balanced mix of young players and experienced players. I'm very much looking forward to taking the next step with this team. In my first season with Leipzig, we have achieved great results and have often shown the quality of our football and good performances. But we still have a lot to do, and that's our common goal right now."
