BBC: Chelsea are looking to sign Petrovic on loan, with Fiorentina and Strasbourg interested【YANTING】

Live on August 8, according to the BBC, after signing Jorgensen, Chelsea has begun to look for loan options for the team's backup goalkeeper Petrovic, Fiorentina and Strasbourg are interested in Petrovic.

The 24-year-old Serb, who joined from New England Revolution for £12.5m last season, made 31 appearances in his debut campaign and was effectively Chelsea's No1 goalkeeper. But new head coach Maresca has signed a goalkeeper with different attributes in Jorgensen.

Both Fiorentina and Strasbourg are interested in signing Petrovic on loan, with Strasbourg also owned by Tod Boli and Clearlake Capital. But the situation has been complicated by Petrovic's confusion over his development plans at Stamford Bridge, while he is wary of relegation or becoming a fallback option elsewhere.

Internally, Strasbourg have listed Petrovic as their top option, with a season-long loan deal that will see him become the team's No. 1 goalkeeper. They are poised to bring in their third and final loan player from Chelsea, the maximum allowed under FIFA rules, having already returned midfielder Andre Santos on loan from Chelsea, while Caleb Wiley's loan deal with the club is expected to be announced tomorrow.

Roberto Sanchez and Jorgensen will compete for Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper position this season. Kepa, meanwhile, remains the world's most expensive goalkeeper after his £71m transfer in 2018, but he is also seen as surplus and is in the final year of his contract.
