Gavi came off the bench in Barcelona's previous game against Sevilla and Pedri gave him the captain's armband, making him the second-youngest player in Barcelona's history to wear the captain's armband.

After suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury for the Spain national team last November, Gavi returned from injury against Sevilla and wore the Barca captain's armband for the first time. On the time of substitution, Pedri handed the captain's armband to Gavi.
